Teachers Live Forever ~ Viva La Verve Sketch

Happy Friday everyone!  The first week back to work after holidays is always the hardest, but I’m back in gear now :)  I thought February was busy, but I may be adding April to that too as I have 3 major papers due…but then my second semester is done!  It is going by quickly :)  So how do I sneak inky time in too?  Well, if it’s one of your loves, you find time even if it means a little less sleep here and there!  LOL  I love the Viva La Verve sketches, so I’ve tried to make sure I at least play with those :)  Here’s the new one up today on the Viva La Verve blog.

I’m playing with 3 of my new paper pads and my most favourite Verve set, Teachers Count.  It’s the perfect time of year to start thinking of Teacher thank you cards!  Head over to the Viva La Verve blog for some more inspiration!  Have a great weekend!  And don’t forget to check out the SALE over in the VERVE Store! Happy Birthday ~ PTI Blog Hop #2

happy birthdaymaureenplut

Hello again!  I didn’t mean to have 2 cards for the PTI  blog hop today, but after finishing this card on Sunday, I noticed it had a lot of SHINE on it!  I was inspired by the cutest little girl at mass who was wearing polka dot leggings in these colours!  I thought of scarlet jewel and raspberry fizz right away!  I came straight home and made this polka dotted panel with a circle punch :)  Then I added a “Happy” in gold foil paper…LOVE! Some more gold sequins adds to the festivities!  Thanks for stopping by again!

Congrats ~ PTI Blog Hop

Good morning!  Welcome to my PTI March Blog Hop post!  Nichole is challenging us to use some high gloss on our projects today :)  No problem here for this bling loving girl!  I’m using some gold glitter mist, gold embossing for the leaf veins, some shiny gold cording and some gold sequins.  Check out that jumbo sequins!  I love it!  It’s from Teresa Collins and I couldn’t resist it!

pti blog hop

It was a busy paper writing and textbook reading Spring Break, but I managed to crack open some new PTI stamp sets from the Anniversary celebration last month.  I’ve added my inspiration photos below if you care to read more :)  Thanks for stopping by and for all your sweet comments. Enjoy the hop!  I know I always do :)

stamps: PTI Sweet Speech, Leave it Be, Delightful Dahlia Additions

dies: Sweet Speech, Leave it Be, Delightful Dahlia

Here are the sources of my inspiration!  First up is from Dawn McVey (never a surprise, I know!)

I loved how Betsy Veldman embossed the leaf veins in gold on vellum!  Delicious!

And finally my the watercolouring on my tag was inspired by this photo on PTI’s Pinterest On Trend Gold board

Watercolor and Metallic? Need I say more.

From the Heart ~ March Rewind

Hi everyone!  Didn’t want to leave the blog quiet for too many days so I’m popping in to share another card from last March.  Gee, it looks like I could have made it today! LOL  This is kind of chronicling my love of doilies ;)  The tag was actually made with real pattern paper, you know, that seamstresses use!  I glued some onto cardstock and then cut the tag shape out.  Ugh, it’s the Monday after Spring Break!  Wish me luck and energy!

Happy Spring Rewind!

Come and let us seek together
Springtime lore of daffodils,
Giving to the golden weather
Greeting on the sun-warm hills.

~ from Spring Song by Lucy Maud Montgomery

Fair Spring ! Whose simplest promise more delights
Than all their largest wealth, and thro' the heart
Each joy and new-born hope
With softest influence breathes.

~from Ode to Spring by Anna Lætitia Barbauld

Happy Spring, dear friends!  I had hopes of posting a new card today, but I’ve been working on a card for the upcoming PTI blog hop and using some new stamps so I didn’t have time.  Oh, and I’m supposed to be reading my textbook! HA!  So I thought I’d repost some of my favourite Spring cards along with some sweet Odes to Spring!  This first card won a Trigger Tuesday two years ago.

I still love everything about this second card…yummy ribbon, sweet Verve butterfly, delightful banners and colours that scream SPRING!

Nothings says Spring like daffodils!  This one makes me a bit teary eyed as it uses Clearly Besotted Stamps and I miss being on the DT with that awesome bunch of ladies!  We still have cold weather here and I blame myself for taking the rubber floor mats out of my car!  Sorry!  Let’s hope it shows up soon!  Thanks for stopping by!  What’s your favourite season?

Joyous Noel

Greetings friends!  I’m supposed to be writing papers, but all work and no stamping makes Moe a cranky girl, so here is the result of a little inky break time!  I’m playing with the current Festive Friday inspiration photo.

I was taken with the sparkle (of course!) and bit of green.  Speaking of sparkle and green, I’ll leave you with a photo of my birthday gift from the DH, a gold, diamond and emerald pendant.  AND I’d like to thank all of you for your sweet birthday wishes here or over on FB.  You really made me smile and giggle all day!

Photo: Tony gets full points for finding another creative way to get more green on me today Sporting my new emerald and diamond pendant

Here’s one more of the birthday girl in her shamrock scarf.  I had to update an older one…I highly recommend playing with the different Instagram filters to help with the wrinkles! LOL

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a glorious day!

The Most Fabulous Birthday Ever!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  It’s my favourite day of the year AND I’m the Diva Dare hostess over on the Verve Blog!  I’ve got a little confession…I almost didn’t have a St. Patrick’s Day card to post today.  Yikes! This second card was the first one I made for the Diva Dare challenge, but I had a hard time NOT having a St. Patrick’s Day card to share.  I literally could NOT do it!  So I dropped everything and made this Lucky Charm card.

Head over to the Verve Blog for all the deets on these 2 cards and see how you can join in the Diva Dare fun!  I will leave you with an Irish blessing (that you can find in stamp form HERE in the Verve Store)  :)

May the road rise up to meet you,

May the wind always be at your back

May the shine shine warm upon your face

And the rains fall soft upon your fields.

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Happy St. Patty’s Day!  ox

A Little Green Surprise!

green fun
Hi friends!  As we get closer to St. Patrick’s Day, I feel a little sad that I haven’t done it up right this year here on the blog {insert sad face here}.  I’ve just had to let it go and know that my focus for the next 2 years is on something wonderful.  I can’t beat myself up for not doing it all.  I did do something fun this week, though, and thought I’d share this cute idea I saw on Pinterest while doing a “St. Patrick’s Day” search.
St. Patrick's Day Teacher Gift
It’s meant for a teacher, but I made one for our amazing secretary.  She has a heart of gold so it was easy and fun to pick out a bunch of green items on my shopping trip last weekend.  Here’s what’s in it:
St. Patrick’s Day necklace, Glysomed lotion, hand sanitizer, green Extra gum, green container of M&Ms, green Aero bar, green notepad, green paper clips, green Easter cream egg, green Skittles, and all in a green flower tin I found at Target.
I put it by our secretary’s computer Monday morning with one of my St. Patrick’s Day cards (see post HERE)  :)
Well, that’s it for me today.  I’m reviewing the new BC Draft Curriculum today so it will be a great day talking education with colleagues :)  I hope your Wednesday is fabulous too!
