Hey friends! I’m back today with another little Clearly Besotted Stamps teaser as we count down to the September release on the 5th. For my second sneak peek, I’m playing with the Little Things stamps set and matching dies. I created the background using clear embossing paste and a leaf stencil. Once everything was dry, I rubbed distress inks on with a Tim Holtz blender sponge. Thanks for stopping by! Head over to Stephanie’s blog for some more inspiration and peeks!

Good morning! There’s a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge up and this time we’re inspired by this photo…
These shades made me think of some fun patterned paper I had. Then I thought I’d make a “Happy New Year” card for our lovely secretary. The new school year starts next Tuesday for us here in BC but I left this card with some candy for the office candy jar by her computer this week as she always starts a week early :) Don’t you just love that ribbon!? EEK! It’s actually fabric cut into ribbon strips and I got a whack of it over in Michelle Wooderson’s shop. I ordered extra, of course!
Head over to the Curtain Call blog for more inspiration and then play along! Have a great weekend!
Hi everyone! Well, I guess I kind of gave the exciting news away at the start of that blog post title. It’s been 2 years since I made the decision to step down from the CBS design team so I could focus on my Masters. Well, the 2 years is UP and the Masters is done! Wow, time does fly! So a few months ago, I asked for my old job back! HA! Stephanie was so gracious and said, “Yes!” So for my first sneak peek, I’m playing with the In Stitches: Autumn set soon to be released on September 5th. Oh, it’s so good to be back using these gorgeous stamps :) Thanks for stopping by! Head over to Stephanie’s blog for some more inspiration and peeks!

Hi everyone! Okay, I look a little stunned because it’s 11:00 Sunday night and there’s bad lighting in the studio :) I’m back in my SAF Canada tank holding my favourite card of the weekend for the final Red Carpet Challenge. It kind of matches my shirt too with that gorgeous maple leaf :) Here’s the traditional display of cards made this weekend…
And now that it’s all over, I’m heading to bed…up early to go back to my classroom and start setting up for the new school year that officially starts on September 8th here in BC. Thanks for popping by and big hugs to Nichole and the PTI Design Team!
I’m back again with the last 3 cards and challenges for this year’s SAF event. I haven’t had a lot of time this weekend to take my own sweet time and play, but I do have a whack load of cards for my stash so that makes me happy! First up is another card for the Pins and Needles challenge. I love to stitch on cards, but don’t think I’ve done too many stitching through the sentiment cards. Love how this turned out!
So I think this Unconventional Materials challenge was the most fun although I wasn’t going to participate! Isn’t that the way it always goes. It surely was the one with the best story… I needed some air this morning so I went down to the closest hardware store, Princess Auto. First off, how do you love that name? Is it just in Canada?
Truth be told, it felt a little weird being in there without the DH! HA! If I HAVE to go with him, I usually spend my time playing the game I made up, “How Many Pink Things Can You Find at the Hardware Store.” Like this…
I was roaming the aisles and even had a man ask me what I was going to polish when I was looking closely at things in the polishing aisle. It was hard to explain that I was looking for things to use in an unconventional way. He said he was only asking because he was very good at polishing and just wanted to see if I needed help :) Sweet! Or maybe it was a pick up line! HA! I finally found my items, some presto pins (no idea what they are for) and 3 bolts with a cool design on the top.
I came in just under $10 Canadian, taxes included! With the crappy exchange, I should have been able to spend $15! LOL!
I used the tops of the bolts to create my background paper. I stamped the image in gold pigment ink and embossed in gold powder!
Then I layered the Presto pin under the Thanks to hold it up and continue the gold accents.
The Make it Work Challenge was my last card. I kind of struggled with this one and am still kind of thinking I want to makeover the makeover card! LOL I had a watercolour experiment left over as well as a “Just Because” sentiment.
I made a flower out of the paper and added some autumn paper and an apple to create a teacher card, my favourite kind of card to make :)
Well, that’s all! My last post tonight will be the finale! Thanks so much for visiting :) Group hug!
Hi friends! I’m back with the final line up of cards for the Stamp-a-faire challenges! First up is a card some of you may recognize. I loved this layout and those leaves so much I’ve made several versions of this card. For the leaves this time, I’ve used the rock and roll ink technique to get some variations on the leaf. This card is for the Threads Challenge. I’m using Danielle technique of using the twine as a border between two patterns.
Next up is a card for the Pins and Needles challenge. I had so much fun looking into my pins box…haven’t been there for a while!
Last up for this post is the Runway Challenge. I found this card a little “wowzers” even for me! To be honest, I haven’t watched any of the Project Runway shows except for the clips here during SAF. I’ve been too busy! I’ve only had time for DWTS! HA! Maybe that will be next year’s SAF theme!
Okay, I’ll be back soon with the last set of cards and then the finale!

I was kind of giddy about this Mix and Match challenge by Dawn, my stamping crush. She’s challenging us to using a colour combo that is out of comfort zone. AH!! The WaCCCky (Wild and Crazy Colour Challenge) is back! I haven’t made one of these cards in a LONG time! So this is how it works. I have all the PTI colours in the pink bin (granted, I may need to add a few of the new colours) and pull out 4 colours. Then I have to make a card using those colours. NO CHEATING! If you look at these colours, you can tell I haven’t cheated…HA!
It’s late, and I may not have had my camera on auto to take the PTI swatch book photo, but these are the 4 colours.
I used Dawn’s card for inspiration and love the way it turned out. Okay, it’s bedtime! I hope to share a bit more tomorrow…sweet dreams!
